Willie Craft

Mr. Willie Bose Craft, 85, of 413 Neighborhood Road, Chatham, Virginia, departed this life Thursday, January 18, 2024 at his residence after several years of declining health.

He was born April 15, 1938 in Pittsylvania County. He was the son of the late Russell and Rebecca Swanson Craft. He was married to Ruth Giggetts Craft, who survives.

He attended the public schools in Chatham, Virginia and was employed by Lorillard Tobacco Company.

He was predeceased by four siblings, Joseph and Wallace Craft, Ruby Bradner and Ernestine Thompson.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Glenda Womack (Corkie), and Joan Barksdale (Robbin), all of Danville; two grandchildren, Jason Womack and Shayla Barksdale; one great-granddaughter, Onyx Moore; two sisters, Delores Scales (Richard) and Gertrude Beck (Bobby), all of Maryland.

Graveside rites will be Monday, January 22, 2024 in Antioch Church Cemetery, Gretna, Virginia, at 11:00 a.m., with Bishop William H. Lee, Jr., Eulogist.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 21, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. from Howerton Funeral Home.
